Partner Tsui Yee was recently asked by the New York State Youth Leadership Council to present a Deferred Action Workshop to undocumented youth and parents. The New York State Youth Leadership Council is the largest undocumented youth-led organization in New York that seeks to empower undocumented youth and create equal access to higher education for all, regardless of immigration status. On August 14, 2012, Ms. Yee gave a presentation on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals at Saint Mary’s of The Assumption Church in Staten Island, New York. The event, which was well attended by approximately 70 DREAMers and their parents, was aimed at educating undocumented youth and their parents about deferred action, its benefits, requirements and restrictions.
As an immigration lawyer with extensive knowledge of removal (deportation), family and criminal immigration issues, Ms. Yee was able to educate the community and ensure that as many people as possible benefit from this administrative relief.
