FANHSPartner Rio Guerrero will be presented with the “Contributions to Excellence Award” at the Opening Ceremonies of Filipino American History Month by the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS)—Metropolitan New York Chapter. Rio is receiving this award based upon his success as an attorney, demonstrated commitment to the preservation of Filipino American history, and promotion of the Filipino American community.

FANHS will also present the community with Mayor Bloomberg’s proclamation of Filipino American History Month in New York City. In addition, there will be a photo exhibit featuring the winners from the “Filipino Americans in New York” photo contest, as well as performances from local Filipino American artists.

The Opening Ceremonies of Filipino American History Month will be held on Wednesday, October 3rd, at the Philippine Center (556 Fifth Avenue, between 45th and 46th Street in Manhattan), from 6-9pm. All are welcome to attend.
